                                      Tattie Festival, Durness, 12-Nov-2011

Food Link again organised the popular Tattie Fest in Durness. The cafe provided a range of foods, all based on a Potato theme. Soups, baked potatoes with a range of toppings, salads, freshly baked bread rolls, and cakes proved very popular.

The Food Link stall, sold a range of vegetables, including nearly 10 varieties of potatoes. Beetroot, onions, leeks, swede, cabbage, parsnip, kale, were also available along with some plants, and a range of homemade jams and pickles.

The children were entertained with a wide range of events. Spud gun alley (pictured), Splat the Tattie, Tattiepult, Tattie quiz, Tattie golf. Thanks to Donald Mitchell, for running the Tattie sculpture and potato printing.

Music was provided by "the Spudettes", and there were stalls run by Jan Moles (photography) and Irene Garrioch (knitting and handicrafts). The "Durness Diggers" had fun with a "hunt the potato" stall, raising £50 for the gardening club.

Next year (2012) the Tattie Fest returns to Scourie.
